Saturday Studio Art: Oil Painting: Portfolio Preparation

This class is for high-school students of all abilities and experience levels, from novices to veterans.

Explore the vibrant possibilities of oil painting and deepen your understanding of the two-dimensional visual language through time honored methods taught at PAFA.  

In this class you will learn about a variety of materials and techniques including painting supports, preparation of the historical and contemporary oil mediums, use of brushes and paint chemistry.  

Learning Objectives: 

Students will understand color mixing of prismatic hues and earth tone colors 

Students will be able to apply the systems of additive and subtractive color to their work 

Students will be able to apply a variety of taught oil painting techniques to subjects such as still-life, the cityscape, and nudes.  

Please bring all supplies on list by first day of class - note that supplies are not included in this course

    Sat for 10 weeks from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
